This lace stitch from The Lady’s Book of Knitting and Crochet, p.86, ca. 1875 was unnamed, so I named it “Snow Flurries” because the repeating pattern is so visually subtle.
The simple, quick-to-work pattern has a 2-stitch, 4-row repeat with 3 set-up rows. The 2 selvage stitches can be omitted, if needed. Either side can be the “right” side – you choose!

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, slip, k2tog, p2tog, yarn over and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

33 yards of #10 crochet thread will make about 6 inches of a 30-stitch-wide strip in the stated gauge.
