Snow on the Marshes
You can find this pattern for free on my website www.knittingburg.co.uk
This cowl was inspired by the beautiful Romney Marsh yarn. Romney Marshes are just a stone throw away from where I live. It is a beautiful area stretches across parts of East Sussex and Kent. It is beautifully flat so you can see for miles and what you see a lot of is lovely sheep grazing on the marshes. This is where the wool is sources from to spin Romney Marsh yarn.
The cowl features a loose turtle neck, knit in brioche rib with decorative detail, which looks like a cable but it is not, and is really easy to work. The cowl then flares up towards the bottom so that it lies nicely over the shoulders which means that if your coat has a v-neck collar the cowl should fit in nicely without your clothes showing between the coat collar and the bottom edge of the cowl. It is warm and squishy and uses just one 100g skein of DK weight yarn. It is easy to make the cowl longer so that it can be turned down, but then please ensure you have enough yarn for that. How to do that is specified in the notes.
