What says “winter” more than snow? And what says “snow” more than the beautiful snowflakes that adorn this pretty tam? Knitted in the round from the band up to the crown, the stranded colourwork design starts out with a flurry of individual flakes before joining together to form the single large centre snowflake.

The pattern is written for one size, to fit an average size woman’s head with circumference of approximately 22”. The hat band itself measures 19” around when knitted to pattern tension.

You will need approximately 175 yards of the main background colour and 100 yards of the contrast snowflake colour.

You need to be able to: work in the round (including in small rounds), work stranded colourwork from charts (the colourwork pattern is charted only), work increases and decreases (kfb, sl1,k2tog,psso)
