They are quick and easy to make in a couple of hours.
Skills needed: Cast on, knit, purl, cast off, using dpns and a bit of sewing.

They use DK or Light Worsted Weight yarn (around 3 grams) and around 2 grams of toy filling/fibre fill. Oddments of felt and require 3.25mm (US 3) straight needles. Tapestry needle and scissors.
