This snowflake afghan pattern is based on my graphghan pattern for single crochet. I’ve now redrawn the pattern so it can be worked in overlay mosaic crochet, working with one color at a time. It is suitable for adventurous beginners through advanced crocheters.

The pattern includes a charted graph with double crochet stitches marked with Xs, written instructions, basic mosaic crochet information, border instructions, and links to helpful tutorials.

To make this afghan you’ll need worsted weight or dk weight yarn in two contrasting colors. You’ll need:
Color A (white): 2000 yds - worsted or 1800 yds - dk
Color B (blue or other contrast): 2500 yds - worsted or 2200 yds - dk
Border (blue or other contrast): 740 yds - worsted or 650 yds - dk
Note: Other weight yarns will work for this pattern with an appropriate size hook for the yarn, but finished size and yarn amounts will be different.
Also need size H/5mm hook - worsted or G/4mm hook - dk or size needed to obtain gauge of about 3.5 stitches per inch in worsted weight or 4.5 stitches per inch in dk weight yarn
