This set of 4 snowflake mug rugs was designed to be worked in overlay mosaic crochet, working with one color at a time. It is suitable for adventurous beginners through advanced crocheters. The pattern includes charted graphs with double crochet stitches marked with Xs, written instructions, basic mosaic crochet information, and links to helpful tutorials.

What is a mug rug? A mug rug is similar to a coaster, but is sized slightly larger to fit a mug of coffee, tea or cocoa as well as a treat such as a cookie.

For each mug rug you’ll need worsted weight yarn in two contrasting colors. The blue and white samples shown used Bernat Super Value in Royal and White, but any worsted weight yarn will work with the pattern. You’ll need approximately 25 yds color A (blue) and 18 yds color B (white) for each mug rug.
Note: Other weights of yarn will work with the appropriate hook for the yarn, but the finished size and yarn amounts will be different.
