Snowflake SP-1
Materials: For the SP snowflakes you may use any size thread with matching hook that gives you a firm stitch. For dainty, delicate snowflakes use Daisy Mercerized Crochet thread, size 30, made by the Belding Lily Co. and the Boye Hook, size 9. Or you may use bedspread cotton, or yarn, and the same directions to produce large snowflakes.
For the R (Ring) snowflakes made around a “bone” ring you will need bedspread thread such as Lily’s 18th Century Cotton and 1 1/8 inch “bone” rings made by Boye or Susan Bates.
Crochet Snowflakes Book I, written in 1978 and revised in 1980, includes 15 original designs with SP centers, 10 Ring designs, and 1 page of counted cross-stitch charts (candle, poinsettia, Black-Eyed Susan, JOY, HOPE, and ABC’s).
