Snowflake SP-9
Written instructions for 2 round snowflake on page 6. Photograph shown on back cover of booklet.
Crochet Snowflakes Book III, 1980, contains new designs for both SP and Ring snowflakes, plus 2 pages of counted cross-stitch charts (violet, thistle, strawberry, full Christmas tree, snowflake, double hearts, initials, dates, and years) to work on Hardanger cloth for ring centers.
Page 3 Materials: For the SP snowflakes you may use any size thread with matching hook that gives you a firm stitch. For dainty, delicate snowflakes use Daisy Mercerized Crochet thread, size 30, made by the Belding Lily Co. and the Boye Hook, size 9. Or you may use bedspread cotton, or yarn, and the same directions to produce large snowflakes.
Page 5 Useful Ideas: For tiny, delicate SP snowflakes to decorate a velvet Christmas stocking use #30 or tatting thread. The same SP pattern made in 4-ply yarn will be 4 to 5 times larger and could be used to decorate a pillow or afghan.
