This pattern was written as a tie-in with my YA novel Snow. In the book the main character knits herself a shawl: ‘I unravelled a woollen jumper and knitted a shawl that wrapped across my chest and tucked into my belt behind, keeping my arms free for working … I made a bright-blue dye to give my garments a colour like pictures of the sky before the clouding over.’

This shawl can be knit as large or as small as you like. The one pictured is 125 cm / 50 inches in width.

ERRATA: Length before first eyelet row should be 50cm/22 inches. Finished length should be 60cm/24cm. This pattern is very flexible and the finished length can be as large or as small as you like (or have yarn for!)
