The Snowy Afternoon Cowl was designed to warm the neck without adding bulk. It can be worn inside a cozy house or outdoors during the most frigid days of winter.

The super bulky yarn and large needle size make it perfect for last minute gift knitting. It can be completed in one snowy afternoon!

Size is adjustable.

Yarn:
approximately 90 yards/83 meters of super bulky or jumbo sized yarn

Samples used:

  • Undyed cowl used 2 skeins of Illimani Cadena color: SFN10 (71.5% Baby Alpaca, 28.5% Royal Merino, 49 yards/45 meters per 3.5 oz/100g skein)
  • Purple cowl used 1 skein of Malabrigo Rasta color 853 Abril (100% merino, 90 yards/83 meters per 5.25 oz/ 150 g skein)

Needles:
size US13/9.0 mm 16-inch circular needle

Gauge:
approximately 8.5 stitches over 4 inches/10 cm after blocking
