These sweet snowy owls are knit in the round, then felted in a washing machine or a dryer. They are weighted so that you when you push them down, they wobble right back up (see the last photo- a .gif shows one in action!). Complete instructions are provided for knitting, installing the internal weight and felting. Fun for kids and adults!

MATERIALS

Needles:

Size US 10.5 circular needles, Size US 10.5 double pointed needles (or size to meet gauge) to work with 1 strand of worsted weight yarn and 2 strands of fingering weight yarn held together in the round

Size US 6 circular needles, Size US 6 double pointed needles (or size to meet gauge) to work with 1 strand of worsted weight yarn in the round

Yarn:

1 Skein Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Worsted;
Color: Charcoal Heather: Yardage: Large-45, Small-28

1 Skein Bare Alpaca Merino Boucle; Color: White; Yardage: Large-75 yards, Small- 40 yards

Notions: Scissors, tapestry needle, stitch markers, fiberfill, wire brush, black embroidery thread or yarn (for eyes), washers (see information on Internal Weight)

Internal Weight: 1.5 inch diameter steel washers, weighing a total of 4 oz. for the large wobbler and 3 oz. for the small wobbler
