This pattern came to me on a winter day, looking at the beautiful snow covered pines in my neighbourhood. I decided to write it for DK yarn for extra warmth and comfort. I hope this easy and quick project makes you smile, and that it keeps your feet warm when you enjoy the outdoors on those cold winter days.

Sizes: (please measure your foot at the widest part to guide your choice)
Small, 48 sts, foot circumference 8 inches
Medium, 52 sts, foot circumference 8.5 inches
Large, 56 sts, foot circumference 9 inches
X-large, 60 sts, foot circumference 9.5 inches

Yarn and notions:

Yarn:
Main colour: 100g DK weight yarn, 250 yards
Contrast colour: 20-30g mini DK weight yarn, 50-75 yards, depending on size
Sample in DK Sock Set by Ravelution Yarn (4 ply - 75% Merino, 25% Nylon)
Colourways: Mon Beau Sapin and Natural

Needles:
3 mm needles with a long cable for magic loop
* important note: the motif tends to tighten the fabric a little and it is recommended that tight knitters use 3.25mm for the contrasting section that includes the motif. If you are an average to loose knitter, this is not necessary.

Other notions: stitch markers, cable needle, scissors, darning needle

Gauge: 7 sts = 1 inch / 2.5cm in stockinette
