Snug as a Mug is a mug sock for your favorite tumbler. I was inspired when I saw fellow knitters take a Starbucks Stainless Steel Create Your Own Tumbler and their favorite fingering weight yarn (stripes and speckles galore) and create their own unique mugs. Since I love all things at the intersection of knitting and tea, this was a must!

  • I ordered a tumbler from the Starbucks online store.
  • You may wish to use sport weight yarn, or slightly larger needles. If this is the case you can adjust the number of stitches you cast on to start. Be sure that your cast on number is such that it allows for 2x2 ribbing (a multiple of 4 stitches) and evenly spaced decreases at the end.

UPDATE 1/2/17

Shortly after the pattern was published, I learned that Starbucks discontinued the Stainless Steel Create Your Own Tumbler. I expect they will have another version for the 2017 holiday season.

In the mean time, I added an option to the pattern to knit a cozy for a Make It Your Own (MIYO) 16oz tumbler which can be purchased from Amazon.

UPDATE 1/13/17

Thanks to 3girlymom who let me know that the Starbucks tumblers are back in stock.
