This is a really simple pattern using just two stitches (slip stitch and double crochet (single crochet US) and in front loop only and back loop only.

The cowl/snood is one size but it is very simple to change this by increasing/decreasing the number of initial ch stitches. The same applies to the number of rows that you crochet.

To crochet this pattern I used the following:

1 skein of Erika Knight for John Lewis XXL (250g/55m)
20mm hook (wooden works well)
1 stitch marker
1 wool needle

Yarn substitute - you could also use a super chunky/bulky yarn held double. Something like Malabrigo Rasta works well but you will need two skeins to make this work.
