Wrap your little one in timeless comfort with the SnugglePop Baby Blanket — a classic granny-square design with a clever modern twist. Soft, snuggly, and gender-neutral, it’s a go-to blanket that new parents will reach for again and again, whether for cuddles, naps, or tummy time.

Using my Breakaway Crochet techniques, each square is worked continuously and joined as you go with a clean, solid seam. That means no sewing squares together, no weaving in endless ends, and no fiddly magic circles to fuss with. It’s an efficient make that feels both traditional and fresh — ideal for baby showers, gifts, or your own special keepsake.

This project uses pretty much exactly 2 balls of Paton’s Big Baby 4 ply yarn to make a blanket that is 26.5” (67cm) high by 22” (56cm) wide. You will definitely need more yarn if you want to make this blanket bigger, which is easy to do - just add more squares!

Because of the texture of this blanket, I recommend sticking to solid color yarns for this project.
