Soap sock are a unique personal care tool. More and more people have become aware of the harmful ingredients in most soaps on the market. This has made way for a growing number of independent soap makers to flock to maker markets and craft fairs. You may have seen some in your local grocery store or your favorite gift shop. This is where soap sock become a must have for your daily wash routine.

Whether or not you wash your legs, ha!, you will love these little guys to wash everything else. Its a luffa for your bar soap. You can make them in 1-2 hours or less, and everyone can have their own. Make them in different colors so no one gets confused over who’s is who’s!

When it needs to be refreshed simply remove the soap, rinse out any remaining soap, then toss it in the laundry! So easy!

This is a one size pattern but making changes to increase or decrease size is simple by adding or subtracting beginning stitches.

Gauge is not important for this project. Tension will be totally up to you. Feel free to change hook sizes to obtain the right stitch tightness for you.

Any cotton or polyester scrubby yarn will work for this pattern. When choosing the right yarn, consider how the texture will feel on your skin. Exfoliation is great, but you don’t want to remove too much skin, lol.

I find that depending on the brand of scrubbie yarn I can make between 2-3 soap socks.
