Skaters spin in celebration of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi Russia –This is a classic – stranded color work mitten inspired by a vintage design from an out of print pamphlet by Rose Anderson. I have redrawn the charts, adding new motifs. I have also resized the mitten for a roomier more modern fit.

Finished Size- 8 3/4 inches around and 11 inches long– will fit an average adult hand

Gauge-7 stitches per inch on size 4 dpns in color work -

Please note – there are several rows with long color runs. I weave my floats in every 3 or 4 stitches and avoid catching yarn in at the same place in consecutive rows. To enjoy this mitten knitting experience you should be familiar with stranded color work techniques or be up for a the challenge of learning something new!
