The pattern is for a button on mug cozy that looks like a sock monkey’s head! It’s very cute and makes a great gift. This pattern uses only single crochet, half double crochet, slip stitch and chain so it is even good for beginners.

This pattern is written in US crochet terms. It uses Encore Worsted but you could substitute any worsted weight yarn, as the pattern has instructions for adjusting the cozy to fit different mugs.

You do not need to crochet a separate piece for gauge as the size can be adjusted with included instructions.

You will need four yarn colors, one red for the hat and mouth, white or off white for the mouth and hat, and brown and beige to get a marled look. This is an easy project to use up scraps.

The .pdf pattern includes color photos of the finished project from different angles and the parts to create and then attach.
