For the Intermediate Knitter, ribbing and linen stitch offer two different fabric characteristics, soft and drapey for the cowl/hood with more gentle hugging shape in the shoulder covering part of the garment.

These instructions are done with a minimum of pattern code for those who do not enjoy interpreting code as they knit. Knit in the round with slightly larger than recommended needles for a soft drape, this deep warm cowl knits up surprisingly fast. This yarn is a sock weight rabbit angora yarn from a small artesan spinner here in NJ;

~~Cuff gauge; The smaller cuff pieces are done on a size 6 or 7 needle, aim for a gauge of 4 1/2 stitches per inch. The smaller needle and tighter gauge creates a fabric that is more durable.

I try to keep the price of my patterns low because as a knitter, I too would rather spend my money on dreamy yummy yarns than on patterns. You can contact me on Facebook with questions or comments; https://www.facebook.com/NancyOBrienACC?ref=hl
