The Soft Storage Pouch/Small Loop Yarn Project pattern makes a small storage pouch, similar in style and dimensions to a makeup pouch, with an optional loop closure on one side. There are instructions in the pattern to guide you how to adapt this pattern to make a pouch of any size. This pattern is designed as a way to use up your leftover yarn from bigger projects!

SKILL LEVEL: Easy.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS:

• Approx. 1/3 of a ball of Red Heart Loop-It Yarn (image shown is the colour “Berry Gorgeous”).
• 1” diameter button to close your pouch with (test your button with a loop of the yarn to find the right size).
• Material to line your pouch (optional).

SUGGESTED TOOLS: No knitting needles required (finger knitting). Scissors. Needle and thread to sew on your button (and optional lining).

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Approx. 9” in length, 3” wide at the bottom, and 6” high (23 cm x 7.5 cm x 15 cm”) - similar to the size of a makeup pouch.

PLEASE NOTE: This pattern will work with any brand of loop yarn, but keep in mind that the size of the loops, and size of the balls/skeins of each brand are slightly different.

Lion Brand Off-The-Hook, Lion Brand Crayola Off-The-Hook, and Bernat Alize Puffy Fine (European) yarns can all be used with this pattern to yield a pouch with mostly similar overall dimensions. Bernat Alize Blanket-EZ yarn, however, has larger loops and larger balls/skeins so you’ll get a slightly larger pouch if you follow the pattern as is, and will need much less than 1/3 of a ball of yarn.
