Soft trail sweater
DESCRIPTION
Soft trail sweater is knitted with two threads of yarn held together, both in the main color and the detail color. The sweater is knitted from the top down. First, the top of the back is knitted back and forth, and the shoulder slope is formed with shortened rows to get a good fit. Then the i-cord detail is knitted on the shoulders before picking up stitches for the shoulder sections, which are also formed with shortened rows. The shoulder sections are joined at the front to form the front piece. The front piece and back piece are then joined to form the torso, which is knitted in the round on circular needles and finished with an i-cord detail. In the sleeve opening, the i-cord detail is made before the sleeves are knitted from picked up stitches along the sleeve opening, and they are given a slope using shortened rows. The sleeves are knitted in the round on circular needles and double pointed needles or with Magic Loop technique, and finished with an i-cord detail before a cuff is knitted separately and then sewn onto the sleeve. Stitches are picked up at the neck an knitted in rib and stockinette stitch. Soft trail sweater has vertical knit and purl stripes, the first and last stripes on both front and back may differ in width from the other stripes on the sweater, depending on size.
