The Churchmice have been passing these mitts all around the air conditioned office to keep their key-boarding and knitting fingers toasty. Dressed up by a handsome herringbone stitch, they’re knit flat, then seamed with a simple thumb slit. Slipped and stockinette stitches ladder diagonally across each palm—each mitt perfectly mirrored by the other!

Our mitts are supremely squishy in Isager Spinni Wool 1. Rooted in the knitting traditions of Denmark, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands, Spinni is a light, lace-weight yarn with a single-ply construction, distinct structure and precise stitch definition. We’ve taken the blocking of these mitts a step further by using a washing machine! The dense, springy fabric softens, blurs, and fuzzes ever so slightly. Of course, the agitation shrinks your wool, so be sure to swatch, swatch, swatch.
