This simple hat is easy to whip up and delightfully soft. I began making them for cancer patients undergoing chemo treatments and find them wonderfully fun and meaningful to work on all summer so I can make big winter donations to hospitals and treatment centers.

The Caron Latte Cake yarns are perfect, but any bulky yarn will work. Included in the pattern are the following sizes:

XSmall: babies and toddlers
Small: children 3-12
Medium: teens and small adults
Large: adults
XLarge: large heads and/or lots of hair

The hat is so simple you can make up all kinds of different pattern options. I’ve included about eight of my own favorite variations and I’m always experimenting with patterns I pick up in other projects - so many ways to use knits and purls!

You need:
--1 Latte Cake for about 3 hats (approx 175 yards each)
-- size 10 adn 10.5 16in circular needles and/or dpns

Great for beginners or projects that don’t take much attention while binging some good entertainment.
