Solar Flares Tee
Release Promo: Solar Flares Tee 20% off reg price until May 22, 2025 (CT) - no coupon required.
Brighten your summer wardrobe with the Solar Flares Tee! This tee radiates energy in every twisted stitch. Wear casual or fitted to suit your personal style.
Construction
The Solar Flares Tee is knitted top-down. The back is worked flat with shoulder shaping to the underarms. Left and right front stitches are picked up along each shoulder edge, followed by some German short-rows and neck shaping, joining, and back and forth knitting to the underarms. Front and back are then joined and worked in the round to the hem. Sleeves are picked up at each armhole, rounded with short-rows and finished with 1/1 tubular ribbing bind-off. The neckband is finished with a folded collar bind-off or i-cord (optional).
This pattern has been tech edited and test knitted.

Finished Measurements (see photo)
Bust circumference - 74 (81, 91.5, 102, 112, 122, 132, 142, 152.5) cm / 29 (32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60) in.
Body and sleeve lengths are adjustable. Increasing lengths beyond the finished measurements will affect the amount of yarn needed.
Materials
For the stitch patterns to show well, I recommend a solid colour or slightly tonal yarn with good body. I used Berroco Modern Cotton DK, 60% Pima cotton, 40% modal rayon; 100 g/3.5 oz; 306 m/335 yds, col. 6618 – coffee milk.
No. of skeins - 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7).
Weight and length (approx.) -

Gauge
24 sts and 32 rows to 10 cm/4 in, measured in st st using 3.5 mm (US 4) needle.
26 sts and 32 rows to 10 cm/4 in, measured in patt (no ribbing) using 3.5 mm (US 4) needle.
For best results, check your blocked gauge in patt (no ribbing) before starting. If you have more stitches, go up a needle size; conversely, if you have fewer stitches, go down a size. Note that the larger sections of ribbing have proportionally higher st counts:
28 sts and 32 rows to 10 cm/4in, measured in patt with ribbing using 3.5 (US 4 needle).
33 sts and 32 rows to 10 cm/4 in, measured in ribbing (unstretched) using 3.5 mm (US 4) needle.
