Have you every needed to get away from it all? Can you imagine packing your luggage, grabbing your passport, and throwing caution to the wind as you head to the airport for a flight to your dream destination? A solo adventure can soothe the soul and that is exactly why I went to Paris, France and London, England in 2016. I was on a solo adventure and I decided to commemorate that adventure by designing this hat. I started the design on the flight home and right before I stepped off the plane, I bound off my last stitches, punctuating the end of the best trip of my life. Whether you knit this on your own solo adventure or while dreaming of your solo adventure, I think you’ll enjoy this design.

Grab some DK weight yarn in two contrasting colors. Endless color combinations, easy slip-stitch pattern, and two crown finishing options will make you want to knit more than one! Add a fluffy pom pom for the ultimate finishing touch! The matching mitts makes this a must-knit set!

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • quicker and cozier knit in DK weight
  • uses German Twisted cast on to improve stretch
  • simple texture that puts the focus on the yarn chosen
  • perfect project to showcase artisanal yarns with interesting color patterns such as speckles
  • mosaic looks difficult but knitting one color at a time is easier than fair isle colorwork (for many knitters)
