Knit these quick, colorful caps in DK weight yarn for all the adults in the family! This pattern is a customer request to add sizes to my recently published children’s pattern: Solstice Caps For Five

There are 3 chart options for each size (6 charts in all). This is a great pattern for using up odds and ends of yarn you may have on hand!

SIZES: Adult Average (Adult Large)
Additional sizes are possible by using different yarn weights. Changes to gauge or yarn weight, or adding to the brim length, may require additional yardage.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
Circumference: 20 (22) inches
Length: 10 (11) inches
Fits: heads measuring up to 22 (24) inches in circumference
Changes to gauge or yarn weight, or adding length, may require extra yarn.

GAUGE: 22 sts and 26 rnds = 4”/10cm on gauge size needles (over blocked colorwork pattern).

NEEDLES:
US 6 (4.0mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Choose needle types base on your preferred method of working small circumferences in the round. Options include magic-loop on a 32-inch circular needle, a combination of a 16-inch circular needle and DPNs, or 2 24-inch circular needles.

YARN: Yarn requirements are 4 contrasting colors in DK weight wool--the range is 40-60 yards of each color for the Average size, and 50-75 yards for each color in the Large size. The color chosen for brim/crown will use the most yardage.

NOTIONS: 1 stitch marker, tapestry needle

SKILLS USED: working in the round, decreases (k2tog), using a chart, 2-color colorwork
