As the Solstice pattern was designed with an inspiration on one of my first made crochet patterns ever, this square came to my mind. As the Dreamchaser square pattern was the inspiration - which is the heart of the Solstice pattern in a slightly different way, i thought it would be nice to also give the Solstice a square. As the doily version is way bigger i really love how this smaller and square shaped pattern came out to the Solstice family. It is to use in many ways as a pillowcase, blanket, tablerunner or maybe a bag. The options are unlimited.

Some general information about this pattern :

Pattern is written in English ( US terms ). From now on there is also a Dutch version available, translated by Tineke Tap and a French version which is translated by Celine Kavanagh.

I used Scheepjes Catona in different colours and different weights of skeins as they come in 10, 25 and 50 grams skeins with a length of 125 meters for a skein of 50 grams. Of course you can also use scrap yarns or different kind of yarn types. As you need small amounts of yarn it is perfect to use whatever you like. Here is what you need for the project :

Color A : 12 grams ( i used 393 Charcoal )
Color B : 5 grams ( i used 106 Snowwhite )
Color C : 3 grams ( i used 509 Baby Blue )
Color D : 3 grams ( i used 173 Bluebell )
Color E : 4 grams ( i used 247 Blue Bird )
Color F : 3 grams ( i used 510 Sky Blue )
Color G : 3 grams ( i used 384 Powder Blue )
Color H : 3 grams ( i used 146 Vivid Blue )
Color I : 3 grams ( i used 400 Petrol Blue )
Color J : 3 grams ( i used 101 Candle Light )
Color K : 5 grams ( i used 522 Primrose )
Color L : 4 grams ( i used 208 Yellow Gold )
Color M : 3 grams ( i used 249 Saffron )

The pattern is carefully tested by three crocheters before publishing it.

Finished size  : 24 x 24 cm / 9,4 x 9,4 inches

05-07-19 - a small errata was detected. At Round 12 there was written you should start in stitches of Round 10, this had to be Round 11. Pattern updated after this date.

As this pattern is one of the side patterns for the Solstice collection which contains three patterns : Solstice, the Solstice square and the Dreamchaser square plaid there is a nice offer which holds on to the end of this year.

If you’ll add all three patterns to your cart ( so the Solstice, the Solstice square and the Dreamchaser square plaid ), you can use the coupon code : Solstice to get the Dreamchaser square plaid pattern totally for free !
