I fell in love with knitting mobius cowls this year because I love the way they naturally twist and create interest rather than laying like a tube around your neck! I also love that you feel like you’re performing a magic trick!

After the unique cast-on, however, I wanted a simple, meditative knitting experience that still created something beautifully textured. Because of the way a mobius comes together, you see both the front and back side of this stitch pattern equally. I love the woven, linen look of the “front side” and the diagonal stitch patterns on the “back.”

I designed this to be a long cowl or to be twisted and looped twice, but it could easily be adjusted to be closer to the neck and wider, if that’s your preferred style.

Or, if you’re looking for a squishier, squashier, cold-weather knit, get two skeins of yarn and just keep knitting! That’s the beauty of the Mobius, knitting from the inside out, you can bind-off at any time.
