The American Southwest region has a special feel to it. Full of history, culture, and natural beauty, this part of the country sticks with you once you visit. The rich sunrises and sunsets over the desert plateaus and mountain ranges are vibrant and vary wildly, with colors ranging from oranges and yellows to blues and greens. The Sonora Sunset is also a gorgeous natural stone, with bright teals and ambers and grey striations, perfectly encapsulating their namesake. This collaboration with Heidi & Lana evokes those striking colors in the sky and on the ground, edges made by stones, architecture, and clouds. Just like the ever-different sunsets over the Sonoran Desert, Sonora Sunset can be worn in ever-changing ways, folded and wrapped to show just the parts you want, or wrapped double for a cozy layer.

This colorwork cowl is easier than it looks, with floats no longer than 3 stitches (aside from a few round changes!), it’s a perfect pattern to practice your tension and create a more-complicated-than-it-looks finished project!

Sonora Sunset was designed in collaboration with Margaret of Heidi & Lana, intended to use one full skein of her DK Homestead yarn, and 6 Mini DK Homestead skeins (https://www.heidiandlana.com/) Additionally, you can also substitute the minis with DK leftovers and scraps you may have on-hand, as long as you have 10g of each Contrast Color.
