I love a knitting challenge, but I also love simple knits that are very meditative and easy on the mind and the soul. No Panic Knitting’s Soothingly Simple Shawl allows the new knitter to explore a sideways triangle shawl construction. It is a very easy knit for more experienced folks who want simplicity and ease. Think baseball or basketball knitting. Or social knitting. Or binge-watching Netflix. Choose a beautiful DK-weight yarn. The sample in Noro Mirai is great for spring or summer, and the striking color transitions play out very nicely in this triangle shawl. The sample in Juniper Moon Zooey illustrates the simple beauty using a cotton-linen blend in a solid color. Options for trim: tassels, beaded fringe or simply leave it alone – completely your choice. As with many of my patterns, this pattern is easily customizable. Use only one color or more – tassels, fringe or none. Make your shawl smaller or larger by adjusting the number of increase and decrease rows. Have fun and experiment- it’s No Panic Knitting.
