Sophelia is an oversized drop-shoulder pullover, knit seamlessly from the top down. You cast on at the back neck and increase out to the shoulders, pick up the fronts from the back, join under the arms and work the body in the round. Sleeves are picked up last. A purl spine runs down the center back, narrows twice on the way down and meets a purl in the hem ribbing. The ribbed collar is double folded and sews down and the oversized sleeves slow taper into a decorative decrease.

The sample is size 3, worn with 12 in / 30 cm of ease on a 40 in / 102 cm bust, in Retrosaria Rosa Pomar Matiz held with Wool2Dye4 Majestic Fluff.

6 mm / US 10 and 4.5 mm / US 7 circulars, 32 in / 80 cm and 16 in / 40 cm.

Techniques:
kfbf, M1L/M1R, picking up stitches, double knitting, Italian bind-off, tubular bind-off, Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bind-off.

920 to 1840 yd / 840 to 1680 m of aran-weight wool, held with 920 to 1800 yd / 840 to 1640 m of lace-weight alpaca-silk or mohair. Shown in Matiz (100% Portuguese wool; 100 g / 219 yd / 200 m), 5 to 9 balls, and Majestic Fluff (53% baby alpaca, 34% mulberry silk, 13% cashmere; 50 g / 437 yd / 400 m), 3 to 5 balls.
