Sophie’s Rose is an asymmetric triangular shawl featuring rows of roses set on a garden trellis. It’s knit from point to base, ending in a deep, extravagant ruffle. Anne Lindquist, owner of For Yarn’s Sake, asked MadelineTosh to dye Sophie’s Rose, a custom colorway with hints of pink, in honor of her new granddaughter Sophie. Sophie’s Rose, together with Knitted Wit’s Madge, combine to create a shawl inspired by the romance of a summer garden.

The shawl uses one skein each of Tosh Merino Light Sophie’s Rose (MC) and Knitted Wit Single-Fingering Madge (CC)

Errata: Gauge is listed on original pattern as both 8 st/inch and 22 st/4 inches. Correct gauge is 22 st/4 inches over trellis st (which is the same as gauge over stockinette stitch), or 5.5 st/inch.

All slipped stitches are slipped as if to purl.
