I’ve often enjoyed wearing mittens that are lightweight and feminine. When I learned to knit socks from the toe up I always thought that the toe looked like the top of a mitten. I decided to give it a whirl and thus the Sottosopra Top Down Mittens were born. Sottosopra is a fun word to say and it fits perfectly for these mittens as it is Italian for upside down!

These mittens are knit from fingering weight yarn. The pattern has a photo tutorial in the magazine to help with the Middle Eastern Cast on method.
