The Soul of the Waves Hat & Scarf set are a fun Project to make for you and/or Gift Giving. The simple two row repeat is easy to memorize and knits up quickly. They have been described as “Potato Chip” knitting!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hat is worked in the round from the bottom up in a 1 x 1 rib with a purl row for an interesting twist. Slipped stitches and a textured Chevron body grow in lines up the hat, just like the Waves of the Hood Canal here in Western Washington.

This Hat can be knit a bit long to get a “Slouchy” effect or to a length where it fits your head snuggly. Soul of the Waves is versatile enough for both men and women to wear (or Teens who like to steal your Knitwear!).

When working the crown decreases, change to double pointed needles when the circumference is too small to fit onto the circulars.

The set was made with two (2) skeins of Worsted weight yarn, but can be easily adaptive to use different yarns buy making small modifications “Here & There”. To make a bigger/smaller hat or a wider/narrower scarf, adjust the number of stitches keeping in mind that it has to be dividable with 6.
