I adore the awesome crochet soup bowl cozies — the contoured shape is amazing! I wanted the challenge of creating a knitted version, and this pattern was the result.

Worked in garter stitch with double strands of cotton yarn, the Soup Day Cozy is wonderfully soft and squishy, providing just the right cushion for your bowl. While not quite as structured as its crochet counterpart, it’s every bit as functional and stylish for your kitchen.

These cozies are designed to go right into the microwave with your bowl and allow safe lifting from the corners when your soup is hot and ready.

⚠️ Important Safety Note:
Avoid getting the fabric wet to prevent serious burns.

Skill Level: Confident Beginner

Finished Size: fits a 6” (15 cm) bowl

Stylish, practical, and cozy — this is one knitting project you’ll find yourself using every single day!
