Use the code MAGPIES for 20% both this and my Baby Oban hats (also released this week) until this Sunday 11/16 at midnight EST. If you’re heading to Sacred Sheep, be sure to visit all the Nest Worsted at the Magpie Fibers booth and give it a squish!

South Carroll Sour is a simple pullover, featuring the square, shortish length sleeves I’ve been seeing in some of the Fall 2025 collections. I’m loving this paired with a long sleeve blouse, but I also like it worn by itself as a more modern knitted tee.

On the body, I took one of my favorite allover lace repeats and divided the pattern into narrow bands and I love how it worked. The combination of silhouette and pattern together is somewhat simple, yet sophisticated - and it’s a super easy knit!

Once again, I’m using Nest Worsted from Magpie Fibers. This stunning worsted is a perfect go-everywhere weight, comes in gorgeous colors, has great stitch definition, and wears like a charm. You need some.

South Carroll Sour is worked from the bottom up in the round, then separated into front and back pieces at armholes. At armhole, I’ve extended the lace pattern outwards onto the shoulder just a bit. Once the upper body is seamed at shoulder and under arm, sleeve and collar stitches are picked up and worked in the round.

The pattern includes both the short sleeve version shown and a long sleeve option.

Notes are included on how to modify fit in a number of ways, and stockinette panels at sides and shoulders make for easy tweaks. Lace instructions are both charted and written.

Sizes
35.25(40,44.75,49.5,54.5)(59.25,64,68.75)” 89.5(101.5,113.5,125.75,138.5)(150.5,162.5,174.5)cm
Sizes reflect bust circumference, based on final, blocked fabric. Shown worn with 4”/10cm of positive ease. I don’t recommend more ease than suggested. Fit in shoulders and sleeves is designed to slouch, and extra fabric there will result in too slouchy an upper body.
