Penguins are special to my friend Pam. She told me that when she and her husband were dating, he gave her a heart shaped pebble. He said that penguins give a pebble to the one they want to spend their life with. He then proposed to her.

This hat was designed to complement the southernmost mittens. Ribbing is folded under and hemmed for a band of doubled fabric over the ears.

Yardage:
Pumpkin 87M (95 yards)
Birch 73M (80 yards)
Charcoal 40M(43 yards)
1 Skein of each color is enough to knit both the hat and mittens.
