My first collection for 2018, Both Sides of Winter, offers three shawl designs that have no ‘wrong side’, and provide extra warmth for the colder season. Brazil is identical on each side, Just Fleece has very similar sides, and Southward has a different stitch pattern on each side. All three designs are adaptable for other yarn weights, and have charts as well as full written instructions.

Southward
An asymmetrical triangle shawl knitted sideways from the tip, featuring a knit/purl texture that has a different look on each side. Use any yarn weight from sport to bulky, with a fairly close-knit gauge. Be sure to adjust your yarn requirements accordingly. It is most suitable for solid color or lightly heathered wool yarns that have good stitch definition.

Note that this design has pattern to work on the wrong side rows. You can make the shawl any size, and work either from charts or the full written instructions.

Materials used for sample (weighs 215g):
Berroco Vintage
3 skeins Bird’s Egg

The shawl includes elements of a stitch pattern found in the Barbara Walker Treasuries.
