These ankle socks with a pretty lace motif add a lovely touch to a summer outfit or for that little extra comfort when lounging during a summer holiday! Of course, these socks can be knitted to a longer length, such as mid-calf or even longer. Please allow for more yarn if you plan to knit longer socks. The socks are worked from the cuff down, featuring a picot cuff, and the lace motif covers most of the sock, with a heel flap and gusset. A chart is provided for the lace motif, along with written instructions, which features a four-row repeat. A solid or tonal/semi-solid colour yarn looks very attractive for this design, but is also well suited for the special, gently speckled yarns. The pattern is written using the Magic Loop method for sock knitting, but it is easily adaptable for use with double-pointed needles (DPNs). Use your favourite four-ply or fingering-weight yarn. This pattern is enjoyable for both advanced beginners and those with more advanced knitting experience. Please read all of the pattern instructions before beginning the project.
