We live in tumultuous times. For many, 2020 has been a year filled with fear. In recent months schools and businesses across the globe have been forced to close their doors to slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Citizens have been asked to remain in their homes as much as possible, a practice called “social-distancing”. Despite understanding and supporting this measure, I have struggled with it the isolation. I’m luckier than most. I can do all of my work from home, and although my daughter and I are having difficulty adjusting to the new reality of being together 24/7, she’s safe and healthy. Still, now more than ever I see the need to take a break from worry, stress, homeschooling, and round the clock parenting to make time for self-care.
In that spirit I’m excited to release a new pattern that is perfectly suited to sparkling your way through the isolation. This stash buster won’t require a trip to the LYS (assuming there is even one open near you). In a time where many of us are focused on caring for others, take some time to care for yourself.

Yarn
50g fingering weight yarn in color A (this is the main background color of the socks) & 15g each 5 additional colors. The Heel can be worked in color A or in a contrast color. If you wish to work it with a contrast color you’ll want to have an addition 5-8g of that color than is called for above. Note: this pattern can easily be worked in just 2 colors, or in more than 5 colors. Follow your yarn muse and use as many or as few colors as you wish. The instructions are written for 5 contrast colors, but you can add a new color any time you start a new repeat of the chart.

Needles
US0 and US1 36” Circular needles for working in magic loop, or DPNs. Adjust needle size to achieve gauge as needed.
