Design
Special Moment is my favorite top for summer. Beautifully draped and with the feminine and easy-to-wear line that I like so much! The lower body is gently A-line shaped. It features a broad lace-panel and stockinette sts. Neckline is scooped (it could easily be worked more or less deep). The short sleeves are set-in with a narrow lace-border.
The stitch-count of the sleeves are adaptable with the lace-border of the body, if you prefer…

Construction
The top is worked seamlessly. Lower body is worked in the round to underarms. Upper back and front are worked back and forth in separate pieces. Shoulders are worked together using the three-needle bind-off method. Sleeves are worked from picked-up sts around the armhole openings. The sleeve-cap is worked back and forth using simple short-row shaping, thereafter the sleeve is worked in-the-round to bind-off. The neck-edging is worked from picked-up-sts. There are very little finishing work: only weaving in ends and blocking and your tee is ready to wear:)

Sizes
Finished chest measurements, after blocking and worked at gauge: 80/85/90/95/100/105/110/115/120/125/130/135cm = 31.5/33.5/35.5/37.5/39.5/41.5/43.5/45.5/47.5/49/51/53”
Lower hem is 16.5cm/6.5” wider than the chest measurements (for all the sizes).

Materials
Yarn: I recommend that you use a light fingering , fingering or sport weight yarn with great stitch-definition. It is important that you work according to gauge to achieve a great result! I worked an ordinary fingering weight yarn in a blend of cashmere and silk. You will need approximately 750/800/850/900/950/1000/1050/1100/1150/1200/1250/1300 m to work the top. Please keep in mind that amount of yarn needed varies from one knitter to another. If adding length to body and/or sleeves you will need more yarn. Needles: A long circular needle, 80cm/32”, needle size 3mm/US2.5 to work the lower body. The same circular needle, or straight needles, to work the upper body. A circular needle 40cm/16”, needle size 3mm/US2.5 to work the sleeve-cap and the neck-edging. Dpns (or a circular needle if working the magic loop) needle sizx 3mm/US2.5 to work the sleeves. Use the needle size needed to obtain gauge! Notions: 6 stitch-markers. Separate holders. Tapestry needle. Row counter.

Gauge 24 sts and 34--36 rounds in stockinette sts = 10x10cm/4x4”.

The pattern
The pattern is easy to follow. All measurements are in cm’s as well as in inches. All necessary stitch-counts are given.
The lace-pattern is charted, as well as written out, round-by-round.
There is a schematic.

Knitting skills
This is an easy knit. You need to be able to work simple lace following a chart and/or written instructions.
Techniques involved are: simple short-rows, three-needle bind-off (you could also bind off the sts for shoulders and seam them together), picking up of sts.

Errata.
Written instructions, lace:
Round 14: repeat (-) until 6 sts remaining
