Need a last minute gift? This is a quick and easy garter stitch shawl knit from the bottom up with 350 yards of bulky weight yarn and size 10 circular knitting needles. (Or you can substitute doubled worsted weight yarn.) The shawl begins with a few stitches and stair step increases widen the shawl until it is large enough to wrap around. Finish it with a shaped ribbed neckline to make it hug your shoulders (or bind off all stitches for a straight neckline). Finished size was 37.5” neckline x 18” deep at center back. It’s easy to make this shawl larger or smaller or substitute a different weight of yarn with needles to go with that yarn. It will work well with solids, stripes, long color runs, mini skeins, scraps or textured yarns. A stockinette version is included as a bonus in this three page pattern.
