Gauge for this project is not important.

WASHING. Crochet item can be washed in the washing machine on 30-40°C gentle cycle. Do not tumble dry, do not bleach, do not iron or dry clean.

Note: Try weaving in the ends as you go by crocheting them into the next row. It will look nice and neat and save lots of time weaving in all of those ends from the stripes later.
