Simple slipped stitches add plenty of texture to these cosy socks.

The socks are worked from the top down, starting with a 3x1 ribbed cuff that flows seamlessly into the sail pattern. The stitch pattern runs round the whole of the leg, and then onto the top of the foot and can be worked from chart or written instructions. The heel flap is worked with a slipped stitch pattern and a round (French) heel turn. The toe is created with shaping down each side and is then gathered at the end.
