The hat is knit in the round in three phases.

The brim is knit in the Spiral Lace Pattern.

The middle of the hat is K1, P1 rib used to transition between the brim and the main hat.

The hat is then reversed by pushing it into the middle of the circular needles, then the top of the hat is completed.

When the hat is done and the brim is folded up the pattern is spiraling in the same direction.
