Leaves spiral out from the centre, flowing into a reversible lacy edging which folds back into a pretty collar.

I designed this pattern with handspun yarn with long colour transitions in mind, but it will work equally well in a solid or variegated colourway. It looks great in white, too!

Notes on size: The final diameter of this shrug, using approximately sport weight yarn (my version used handspun) and 4.5 mm needles, was 47”/120 cm. Other versions using fingering weight yarn measured approximately 42-43”/107-110 cm in diameter. With sport weight yarn, the shrug should fit anyone with a bust measurement of approximately 32-42”/81-117 cm (Small – Large), while the fingering weight version will easily fit Small – Medium. The pattern provides options for adjusting to smaller and larger sizes, and adjusting the size of the armholes if necessary.

Skills required (Intermediate level): Simple lace, knitting in the round, picking up stitches along an edge. Both charts and written instructions are provided for all parts of the pattern.
