These socks feature a simple one stitch cable design which creates the spiral effect around the body of the socks. I designed these because I had some difficulty finding sock patterns that didn’t get lost when knit in a variegated yarn. The beauty of this pattern is that the stitch pattern can be stopped at any point and so it is fully customisable for any length of foot. The spiralling single stitch almost has the same effect as slipped stitches in highlighting the different colours in a yarn. However, it would look equally effective in a solid or in a self-striping yarn. I use a slipped stitch heel for greater durability, and a rounded toe so there is no grafting.
