The Spirit Board Cowl is a stranded colourwork cowl that is knit in the round to create a long tube. After blocking, both ends are seamed together, resulting in a double-sided infinity or moebius cowl.

Inspired by the talking boards or ouija boards that first rose in popularity during the late Victorian Era, the Spirit Board Cowl allows you to write your own spooky messages, possibly from the great beyond!

This cowl is designed to be customizable in the messages and iconography used. A large central planchette chart is surrounded by smaller sections that can include common words, numbers and letters found on talking boards. The knitter is encouraged to include their own messages, using elements from the pre-made and custom charts provided. The length of the cowl can easily be customized by including more or fewer talking board charts. This is a fun knit for Halloween, fall, or any time of the year!
