This sock was a Bonus Sock for Sock Madness 17.

This sock was inspired by the month of May, and the change it brings. Where I grew up, May was the month that Spring was just starting - leaves were finally popping out and the Earth was awakening after a long winter. Where I live now, May is really the transition from Spring to Summer - the gardens are filled with flowers, and vines start to coat everything. This sock is knit from the cuff down with motifs inspired by tangling vines and leaves that grow so rapidly in the transition from Spring to Summer. The heel is “grown” out of a single point at the beginning of the round, the heel turned, and then the gusset is on the sole of the foot - no picking up stitches needed! As always, there is a dessert recipe at the end of the pattern - a bit of sugar to put you in the summer spirit and give you energy!
