This hat is named for the beautiful Spirit Rock Lookout, which sits atop Colpoy’s Bay on the Bruce Peninsula, in Ontario, Canada. Featuring a leaf motif and a slouchy fit.

MATERIALS

SIZE 19 (22)” 48 (56) cm circumference (with band stretched); 9.5” 24 cm from brim to top.

YARN 160 (175) yds of worsted weight wool; or, one skein Oceanwind Knits Merino Worsted, 200 yds (115g); 100% hand-dyed superwash merino wool - colourway used for sample is Aegean.

NEEDLES 3.75 mm (US5) & 4.5 mm (US7) dpns or 60 cm circulars suitable for knitting in the round (DPNs will be required to knit the top decreases, unless you switch to magic-loop style knitting).

OTHER stitch-markers, tapestry needle for weaving ends

GAUGE 4 sts & 7 rows per 1-inch square in stockinette, blocked
